MULTIGROOVE'S SOUND GARDEN

Gepubliceerd op 4 juni 2025 om 17:26

On Saturday, May 31st, Multigroove hosted its latest edition of Sound Garden at the iconic Lofi Amsterdam — a night that brought generations of ravers together for an experience filled with beats, raw energy, and underground vibes. We spoke to Nick van Leeuwen (@early_nickk), a dedicated raver who attended the event with his girlfriend, to get a firsthand look at what made this party stand out.

A Blend of Generations & Genres

Nick describes the crowd as “diverse — lots of different people. A new kind of experience with both young and old together.” The musical journey followed suit, with a mix of genres spread across the evening. While the DJ transitions didn’t always flow seamlessly — many sets started slow instead of building off the previous one — it was still a day full of unexpected highlights.

One of those highlights? Vince, who surprised both Nick and his girlfriend with a powerful early set. “Lots of early and hard beats — perfect for some proper hakken,” he says with a grin.

The Vibe: Warm, Real, and Unexpectedly Familiar

The overall vibe? “Friendly and atmospheric,” says Nick. No bad energy, just good people and good music. That said, he did notice the occasional curious glance directed at him and his girlfriend — both dressed in classic Aussie tracksuits. “We got some looks because of the Aussies 🤫,” he admits. A reminder that even within open-minded spaces, subcultures still stand out.

The Venue: Lofi Amsterdam Never Misses

Lofi Amsterdam delivered once again — a trusted name in the underground rave scene for good reason. Nick praised the sound quality and called the location “top.” The stage setup and decor fit the vibe, even if the musical structure was a bit unconventional for those used to smooth transitions between high-energy sets.

The Moments That Stick

The most memorable part of the night? Meeting new people and forming lasting connections. “I got to know new people and left with friendships,” says Nick — proof that the rave scene is as much about community as it is about music.

Would You Recommend Sound Garden to Other Gabbers?

Nick’s honest take: “Hard to say. I had a great time, but the concept of the party was something totally new and took some getting used to. So yeah, I’d recommend it — but mostly to gabbers who are open to other kinds of music too.”

In other words, Sound Garden isn’t your standard hardcore fest — it’s a space for ravers with an open mind.
